With an extensive collection of gowns from a group of truly inspired designers exclusive to Little White Dress, we are so pleased that Sassi Holford’s line is part of such a lovely shop! Little White Dress’s owner, Cate Malone, recently popped by to tell us more about her boutique:
BB: Hi, Cate! Thanks for taking the time to chat. You must be quite busy with Spring brides! First things first, what inspired you to open a bridal boutique?
CM: A romantic at heart, I have always loved weddings, wedding dresses, and dreams coming true . . . A help-wanted ad for an in-house wedding coordinator about 15 years ago was when I realized that somehow, some day, I would love to be in this business.
BB: When did you open your boutique and what is your favorite part of owning Little White Dress?
CM: Little White Dress Bridal Shop opened on January 2, 2008, so we are just starting our third year in business. There are so many things I love about owing my own business . . . the opportunity each and every day with each and every customer to help them feel their most beautiful on their wedding day is very meaningful and rewarding to me.
BB: With so many gorgeous gowns and talented designers out there, how did you choose?
CM: There are several important things I consider when selecting the designers and dresses available at Little White Dress Bridal Shop – reputation, work ethic, customer service, where the dresses are made, fashion/creativity/uniqueness, a variety of styles, and quality of construction are all seriously considered. It is also important to me to bring designers never before available to Colorado brides, and to have exclusivity for the entire state.
BB: How do you feel Little White Dress sets itself apart from other bridal salons?
CM: Our spacious, welcoming, friendly and fun environment, above and beyond customer service, a large variety of beautiful and unique dresses in all styles and sizes, the largest selection of bridal accessories, and simpler, destination style wedding dresses in the state, and experienced bridal consultants/stylists who LOVE helping each bride they are working with!
BB: What do you think is one of the most important things for a bride to be to consider when she begins searching for her gown?
CM: Being open to the suggestions of others, taking the time to enjoy the experience, and seeing herself in a variety of styles, fabrics, and laces before making a final decision can all contribute to finding the perfect dress that is a wonderful reflection and compliment of the bride and her wedding.
BB: Who is the bride who chooses a Sassi Holford gown from Little White Dress?
CM: She puts great value on having a high quality, absolutely gorgeous, classic, timeless wedding gown that is custom made for her using the finest of fabrics, laces, and couture bridal sewing techniques. She is independent, experienced and sophisticated, and understands and appreciates the quality and beauty of a Sassi Holford wedding gown.
BB: Were there any particular trends you were following as you chose your new collection last Fall at Bridal Market?
CM: Maintaining my intent to have a large selection of different styles of dresses in my shop was my main goal at market in October – I like having dresses that are simply elegant, ornate and opulent, vintage romantic, modern and structured, and everything in between, so our brides have a wonderful and unique selection when they come to my shop.
