Proving that the world really is getting smaller, I met Joanna through my guest post on Rock My Wedding, where she mentioned her Sassi Holford Hayley gown. Thrilled, I asked (begged) her to send some images to share of her and her new husband Neil’s wedding day on Pip Pip, and she obliged! So, without further ado, Joanna tells us about her wedding (all images by Peter Blanchflower):
We got married on 12 September 2009 (it was an absolute scorcher of a day!) at a small church called St. John the Baptist in Honiley, Warwickshire, and our wedding reception was at Ardencote Manor Hotel in Claverdon. We had a very traditional church service and I tried to make our day as classic and elegant as possible – until the evening reception where the theme was fun, fun, fun with a sweetie table, fancy dress props, photo guestbook, etc.
Sounds lovely!
Don’t Joanna and her honey look gorgeous? The charming girl and boy are her son and daughter. What a happy family! I think this may be my favorite image.
I love this image, as well – there is something so romantic about it…

How thrilled they are! Neil is positively beaming!

A little refreshment before the party…
I love hearing about how girls find “the one” – meaning her gown, of course! When I asked Joanna how she chose Sassi’s Hayley gown, she reported back that it was love at first sight:
I first saw the Hayley gown at the National Wedding Show at the NEC in Birmingham and fell instantly in love with it, it was the first dress I tried on! The stand was being run by the shop Eliza Hamilton from Henley-in-Arden in Warwickshire which is where I went to buy it from, from a very lovely lady called Laura. I did try on two other dresses at the shop but it had to be Hayley. I deliberated over getting the shrug as well as the dress was 100% over budget but it just wouldn’t have been the same without it.
You are one of those lucky girls who finds her gown right away, and look positively amazing! Well worth straying a bit from budget, I say!
These pictures of Joanna tug at my heart . She seems overcome! Anticipation, excitement, a full heart - all there on her face.
