{Stockist} Madeleine's Daughter

madelinesdaughter 300x103 {Stockist} Madeleines DaughterOpen for over 30 years, Madeleine’s Daughter, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, has worked with with brides-to-be from all over New England.  The boutique is filled with a rich collection of classic, elegant gowns and has a welcoming atmosphere.  Elizabeth, owner of Madeleine’s, took a few minutes to fill us in on her delightful salon:

Madeline's DaughterPip Pip: Thank you so much for telling us all about Madeleine’s Daughter!  Owning a bridal salon is such a special thing, what inspired you to open one?

MD: I did not open a bridal boutique but purchased a great one!  My inspiration came from working for a fabulous Madeline's Daughtermentor.  Not to mention that I love fashion!

Pip Pip: With so many gorgeous gowns and talented designers out there, how did you choose?

MD: How do I choose?? I choose things that our salon represents: simple and understated elegance!

Pip Pip: What is your favorite thing about owning a bridal boutique?

MD: My favorite thing about owning the boutique are gorgeous gowns, the excitement when a bride finds gown and, lastly, following the bride through the whole process from picking a dress out to picking the dress up!

Pip Pip: Do you have any favorites?

MD: Of course, but I know that it is a very personal choice and that my favorites won’t be the favorites for every customer!

Pip Pip: What do you think is one of the most important things for a bride-to-be to consider when she begins searching for her gown?

Madeline's DaughterMD: To limit the amount of advice she seeks from others, so that she can focus on what she really wants without the influence from other people.

Pip Pip: Who is the bride that chooses a Sassi Holford gown from Madeleine’s Daughter?

MD: The bride who indulges in the finer things in life and who can appreciate the quality.  She probably drives a really nice car that isn’t too flashy, buys nothing but silk underwear, and has at least a Master’s Degree.

Pip Pip: What is something no bride should go without?

MD: Every bride should have a veil and/or a headpiece!  These items put the whole package together and make everything fall into place!Madeline's Daughter

Pip Pip: Who is your fashion icon?

MD: I would have to say that I don’t have just one fashion icon, that the classic and timeless looks of Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn are looks that will never fade with time!

Pip Pip: Thank you for your time, Elizabeth. It was a pleasure chatting!

We are very excited that Madeleine’s Daughter is hosting a Sarah Arnett Trunk Show on October 8-12. Give Madeleine’s a call at 603-431-5454 to schedule an appointment.
