Aisle Style {Jackie Kennedy}

Jackie Kennedy.  Just her name leaves one a little breathless.  An icon of fashion, her wedding gown was the epitome of chic with just the right amount of tradition.

Other than learning that elegance is always in style, one of the lessons I have learned from Jackie is that adding elements to classic garments makes them your own, allowing the wearer to shine and feel her most beautiful.

Not every bride-to-be who desires to emulate this icon wishes to have a full ballgown with ruffles on her wedding day, but her look can still conjure up Avalon with less obvious details.

First, the gown.  With a quintessential portrait neckline and a beautifully draped, feminine bodice, Sassi’s Anouska gown echoes Jackie’s famous dress.  Anouska’s lower waistline and full skirt are a departure from our inspiration, but carry on in Jackie’s spirit with a modern silhouette and tailored styling.

Now, it is all about the accessories.  A pearl necklace, cathedral veil, wrist-length gloves, and polished, feminine shoes combine to contribute to the timelessness we see in Jackie and John F. Kennedy’s wedding.  Paired with a dose of wedding day joy that every bride feels, we can all glow like Jackie Kennedy!
